Brent Horning has been exploring and practicing the healing arts since he moved to Los Angeles from Michigan in 2001. He gained extensive somatic awareness through his 13 years as a certified massage therapist. He holds a certification as a Yoga and Meditation instructor since 2007. He earned his certification as a drug and alcohol addiction at UCLA Extension and after completing his supervised internship and state exam, he registered with CCAPP (California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals). He is currently continuing his education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, focusing on Anthropology and South Asian studies. He is a recipient of the US Department of State Critical Language Scholarship, and Benjamin Gilman Scholarship for 2022. This includes intensive Bengali/Bangla language study in Kolkata, India during for summer and cultural anthropology fieldwork in Santiniketan until the end of the year. Brent has taught dozens of specialty workshops as single events and series at a wide range of venues including yoga/meditation studios and retreats, church services, education for nurse practitioners, West Hollywood City employee education, as part of weddings, fashion shows, artists collectives and a variety of clinical settings. His album "Gong Meditation for Relaxation and Healing" is available on all major digital outlets.
Healing sound baths, sacred sexuality lectures and gay men's therapy groups are his most common workshop topics. He was the Wellness Program Director for the BIF/Pacific Lyons Care Wellness Center focused on holistic classes and workshops for gay men, and has worked at various addiction treatment center as a counselor and yoga/meditation/sound healing instructor, including Twin Town Treatment Centers, Breathe, Institute for Sexual Health, One80 Center, Valley Restoration Center (Harmony Place IOP) and La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center.
